Silver Jubilee of ESG was commemorated on 27th and 28th of April 2023 @ Infosys Science Foundation, Jayangar, Bangalore

An Exploration of ESG’s Interventions – An Exhibition

Inaugurated by Hon’ble Mr. Justice P Krishna Bhat, Former Judge of the High Court of Karnataka.

Former Indian Environment Minister Mr. Jairam Ramesh, MP and Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Science, Technology, Environment & Forests and Prof. M V Rajeev Gowda, former MP, graced the occasion.

Ms. Madhu Bhushan of SIEDS warmly welcomed the gathering and also introduced ESG as a civil society force that has evolved from core elements that shapes nature.

And the ESG Trustees launched the new logo. And this was followed by a short film on ESG.. a work which late K P Sasi started and is being completed by Teepoi.

Teepoi also designed ESG’s logo.

Dr. Shirdi Prasad Tekur Memorial Fellowship was announced by Ms. Arundhati Nag, Founder, Ranga Shankara in the presence of Dr. Tekur’s family.

Ms. Nag also honoured community leaders advancing environmental and social justice struggles.

2022 Holberg Prize Awardee (dubbed as Nobel Prize in Social Sciences)

delivered a Keynote Address on

Imagining Futures: Finding Common Ground across Ideological and Political Minefields

Chaired by Dr. Aditya Sondhi, Senior Advocate.

Conversations

Exploring New Imaginaries of Environmental Justice

in collaboration with

Institute of Public Policy, National Law School of India University

was held on 28th April, 2023 @ Infosys Science Foundation, Jayangar, Bangalore

Inaugural address was delivered by

Mr. Justice Sunil Dutt Yadav, Judge, Karnataka High Court

The morning Conversation was chaired by Mr. Tikender Panwar, former Deputy Mayor of Shimla. Panelists involved leading researchers and campaignists from various disciplines. They spoke from their areas of competence on Reflexive Democracy: Ecological Transformations, Agroecological Promises and Public Health Imperatives.

The Afternoon Conversation, chaired by renowned Historian Dr. Janaki Nair, focused on Governance Challenges in Making a New World.

Valedictory Address was delivered by Dr. Vandana Shiva, Navdanya
