Armin Rosencranz


Armin Rosencranz is a political scientist and lawyer (AB Princeton; MA, JD, PhD Stanford). He founded and served as president of Pacific Environment, an international environmental NGO. He taught US, international and comparative environmental and natural resources policy for 25 years at UC Berkeley and Stanford. At Stanford he received three teaching awards, including “teacher of the year”. Armin’s recent work has focused on energy, climate and India. He has co-edited two books on climate change, including Climate Change, Science and Policy (2010), and co-authored Environmental Law And Policy In India (third edition forthcoming). He has received five Fulbright awards -- two to India and one each to Australia, Indonesia and the Philippines. This is Armin’s fifth voyage with Semester at Sea. To relax, he likes to play poker while nursing a beer.
