Turahalli Update
Environment Support Group has been helping rock climbers with access related challenges at Turahalli Minor Forest in Bangalore. In earlier efforts, rock climbers and other groups responsibly accessing Turahalli and other such forests, had gathered 315 signatures from affirming support to a representation made by ESG to Mr. Punathi Sridhar, IFS, attached (Principal Chief Conservator of Forests), which is attached here.
In continuation with these efforts, a meeting was organised on 12th March 2020, 6-7 pm, to consider how this pending issue can be addressed. The meeting took place at Environment Support Group Workshop Space, #1575, Outer Ring Rd, opp. Evolving Systems, Banashankari Stage II, Banashankari, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560070.
People interested in wise public use of urban forests and such other spaces joined the meeting and supported ongoing efforts.
