Dr. Pushpa M. Bhargava, Former Vice Chairman, National Knowledge Commission and Founder Director (Retired), Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, will speak on Biopiracy and its implications to Biotechnology and Biodiversity Conservation
Mr. Ananth Hegde Ashishara, Chairman, Western Ghats Task Force, Government of Karnataka, will speak on Biopiracy and its implications for Livelihoods and Ecological security
Mr. K. S. Sugara, IFS, Addl. Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Member-Secretary, Karnataka Biodiversity Board, will speak on Challenges for Regulatory agencies to tackle Biopiracy
Mr. Yeshwant Shenoy, legal advisor to National Biodiversity Authority during 2005-2012 and author of “Biodiversity Law and Practice” will speak on Legal and Policy Challenges in tackling biopiracy in India
Ms. Bhargavi S. Rao, Coordinator (Education) and Trustee of ESG will present the Case of Biopiracy against Institutions involved in promoting B.t. Brinjal in India
Mr. Leo F. Saldanha, Coordinator and Trustee of ESG will moderate the Panel discussion
