Karnataka District Lake Protection Committee – RTI Documents
Based on the petitions filed by ESG, WP 817/2008 and WP 38401/2014 – PILs relating to protection, conservation and rehabilitation of lakes of Karnataka and their Raja Kaluves, the Honourable High court came out with an order to form District lake protection committees in all districts across Karnataka. To follow up on this order, ESG filed RTIs to all the districts in Karnataka seeking information on the functioning of the said committees. This sheet contains the RTI applications, appeals and responses to all the districts in Karnataka.
RTI filing is fine, but , subsequently, what happens next, just nothing, the Palanahalli Lake is just a Cesspool, filled with inflowing sewage, at times fishes are found dead floating due to high toxic, besides, lot of migratory birds do come in for breeding and nesting, and inspite of complaining to BBMP Commissioner and Yelahanka BBMP, nobody from agencies bother. Real pity on court directives and Government administration. Real Failure
